Chapter 279: - The New Expedition Awaits
"But you said that Faeries still exist in the Dissidia Kingdom area?" Broken inquired.
"Not Faeries in general," Elincia clarified. "But a Fae Beast. Although Fae Beasts fall under the Faery category, no one has actually encountered them directly."
She paused for a moment. "However, if we were to speculate, it\'s possible that there are Faeries nearby wherever the Eternal Flame Fae Beast is found. But because Faeries are adept at hiding, they won\'t be easy to find."
Broken absorbed the information thoughtfully. "So, there\'s a chance we might encounter both the Fae Beast and perhaps other Faeries as well?"n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Yes," Elincia nodded. "But finding them will be the real challenge. The Eternal Flame Fae Beast will be our main focus, and any additional encounters with Faeries would be a bonus." "So, to obtain the Eye, I must hunt down the Eternal Flame Fae Beast, correct?" he repeated. Elincia nodded. "I think so. However, there\'s a catch. The Eternal Flame that Livelywood and Starfall encountered had a level well over 200. Since they are Fae Beasts, they possess intelligence far above the average wild monsters. So, not only will finding them be a challenge, but defeating them will also be even harder. First, we need to locate them, then defeat them, and finally, hope they drop the item we need. If I had to predict, this expedition could take quite a while."
Broken nodded again, fully understanding Elincia\'s point. But regardless, he was determined. He would hunt the Eternal Flame and get their Eye.
"So, when are we going to hunt the Eternal Flame? Khi khi khi," Goldrich responded.
"Where can I find this Eternal Flame?" Broken inquired, directing his question to Maylock.
Maylock paused for a moment before responding. "It will require a lot of resources," he said, then turned to Elincia. "What do you think?"
Elincia seemed to understand Maylock\'s concern. "It\'s okay, we can rearrange the schedule and also see who might be able to join the expedition."
Broken chimed in. "Please, I need to know where I can find the beast and how many people we might need. This doesn\'t have to happen in the next few days, but I just want to make it my next big objective."
Elincia nodded at his explanation. "You can find the Fae Beast in Wildwood, the same forest where you completed the Trial Domain when you first met Melliandra," she explained. "But I\'m sure the Fae Beast we\'re talking about is much deeper within, where the monsters are at a higher level."
"You\'ll need a solid team to go there, Broken," Maylock added.
"How many people?"
Maylock then explained, "I think we need at least six to eight players, all with levels above 200. That way, we can be confident in handling the monsters we\'ll likely encounter and also deal with the Fae Beast more easily."
Broken considered all the possibilities with the facts and information given to him. With all the summons he possessed, he might be able to force the journey alone. However, it would be challenging, especially since even Maylock emphasized the danger.
Besides, he couldn\'t ask some members of the Ass Guild to accompany him because this was a personal matter. While Ivana might be able to join him, it would be risky if he had to log out and leave Ivana alone.
Bringing more personnel, like his knights, was another option, but the knights didn\'t have the necessary levels yet. He may need to push their levels harder, but that would take an uncertain amount of time.
Goldrich then said, "If you need any assistance, just say it, Broken."
Broken looked up.
Goldrich continued, "We\'ve been through a lot together. Do you still not consider us friends?"
"No, that\'s not what I mean," Broken replied.
"You probably need help, and I\'m ready to assist," Goldrich stressed.
Elincia nodded in agreement. "If you truly need that item, Broken, I believe this is an expedition worth undertaking. The greater the risk, the greater the potential reward, right? So, let\'s discuss the timing and who might join the expedition. We have enough people to split the tasks."
Maylock chimed in. "Or do you have any concerns?"
Broken slowly answered Maylock\'s question, "I have nothing to offer in return for the help I may need."
Elincia picked up on his hesitation. "So, that\'s your concern?"
She then suggested, "Why don\'t you reward those who are willing to accompany you by helping them craft a new item? Everyone would be excited about that and willing to pay a fair price for it." She smiled, adding, "Am I crossing the line?"
Broken had been contemplating taking on commissions from members of the Ass Guild, but he was still waiting for the right opportunity. However, he thought that he could prioritize those who were willing to join him on this expedition.
"I think that\'s an interesting proposal," he said enthusiastically. "If anyone is willing to accompany me to hunt the Eternal Flame Fae Beast, I will craft an item for them upon request."
Freya\'s voice could be heard approaching them as she declared, "As the Deputy Mayor, I\'ve prepared for this."
Smiling, she walked over and sat down between them. "Don\'t worry," she reassured them. "I\'ll take care of the city. As long as we have strong people guarding it, I\'m not worried about taking over some of your responsibilities." She chuckled slightly.
Elincia smiled and replied, "You sure are the best assistant Broken could ask for, Freya."
Maylock then added, "Right now, all we need to focus on is choosing who will go with you,
Broken."
Broken turned to Maylock and asked, "Do you have any ideas, Maylock?"
Maylock nodded and continued, "I\'ll come with you since I\'m an archer and can be useful in tracking and monitoring the surroundings. I can act as an alarm in case of any approaching monster attacks. Because I\'m going, Toberry will most likely come with me since we\'re a package deal."
"That\'s a great idea," Broken replied quietly.
Maylock then went on, "We need a mage, but Goldrich isn\'t the right candidate. He needs to be available to ward off any urgent matters that might arise in the city or the capital."
Goldrich sighed, "I\'ll have to pass on this one, as much as I want to participate." Elincia then said, "I can\'t come either, Broken. However, you can invite Starfall to join you since she is also a powerful mage, and she can heal, too. This means that Livelywood will have to participate as well, as the two of them are on the same team. But Livelywood needs to be responsible for the city\'s development, too."
"If Livelywood and Starfall join," Maylock added, "we\'ll need to make sure there\'s a plan in place to cover Livelywood\'s responsibilities while they\'re away. Perhaps some temporary measures to distribute his tasks?"
Freya then added, "Don\'t worry. I\'ve learned a lot from him, and I\'m sure I can handle all the work he\'s started for a while, with help from Charmelyn too."
Maylock mentioned a few names, "Me, Toberry, Starfall, Livelywood-" then paused for a
moment.
Freya added, "Invite Ivana to join you too, Broken. She\'s a dependable tanker and incredibly
strong."
Broken nodded. "I\'ll ask her to come with me."
Maylock then offered another suggestion. "I heard one of your Knights has a Pathfinding
talent. It\'s a great opportunity for them to get hands-on experience in hunting. It would be a fantastic way for them to get stronger quickly."
Broken nodded slowly. "They\'re not high level yet, but it\'s a great idea. Combat experience would help them gain levels quickly."
The team that would accompany Broken was shaping up: himself, Ivana, Maylock, Toberry, Starfall, Livelywood, and Yann, one of his Knights who had a Pathfinding talent. He was still considering inviting one or two more Knights, but he would make that decision later. Once they had come to an agreement on the plan, Broken finally made his announcement. "I believe we should be able to leave in a month or two, after we tackle some issues here first."
