Chapter 275 - 274: Can’t You See I’m Drinking Soup?_1

Benson Michael had never expected that even after knowing who he was, Julius Reed would dare to dump scalding hot soup over his head.

“You’re asking for death!”

Benson Michael stood up, his previously calm gaze replaced by a ferocious glint in his eyes.

Furiously, he pulled a handkerchief from his pocket and began wiping the soup from his head.

It wasn’t just him; even Brayden Leopold was somewhat taken by surprise.

Benson Michael was not like Joel Martin. The Michael Family was a genuine big business in Ganny Province, and even in Five-river Province, the words of a member of the Michael Family carried weight.

However, with Julius Reed’s action, he had given Brayden Leopold a dose of reassurance. The toughest one had been dealt with; how could Joel Martin possibly be his match?

The only one who was truly worried for Julius Reed was Anna Harris. She couldn’t believe that the former pushover her best friend spoke of, the husband who could only stay at home doing laundry and cooking, had become so domineering and assertive!

But was this genuine confidence, or just asking for trouble?

After offending so many young masters, wasn’t he afraid of retaliation?

“Boy, you are the first one who’s ever dared to pour soup on my head!”

Ever since he had revealed his true identity, Benson Michael’s aura had become incredibly dominating.

In the face of Julius Reed’s insult, he managed to remain angry while still keeping his composure.

“Oh! But before that, has anyone ever hit you?”

Julius Reed asked languidly, his face completely devoid of fear.

As if the identity of the young master of the Michael Family was worthless in his eyes.

“Who would have the guts…”

Slap!

Before Benson Michael could finish his sentence, Julius Reed slapped him to the ground.

“Sorry, I just have big guts,” he said with a smirk, then turned back to his chair and continued to eat his meal nonchalantly.

Even Brayden Leopold’s heart skipped a beat at this.

Too fierce, right?

He even dared to lay hands on a member of the Michael Family?

Considering this, it seemed like Atlas Leopold falling into his hands wasn’t a loss at all.

With this thought, Brayden Leopold steeled his heart, picked up Joel Martin who was in front of him, and shoved him harshly to the ground.

The scene once again became awkward.

“Kid, I’ll make you regret this!”

Benson Michael got up slowly from the ground and angrily turned to leave the Pearl on the Water Grand Hotel.

“Julius Reed, get out of here quickly!”

Seeing Benson Michael leave, Anna Harris naturally knew he was going out to call for backup. A proud person like Benson Michael would never let such a huge indignity go without retaliation.

“Get out? The meal isn’t even finished!”

Julius Reed didn’t care at all and continued to eat his food leisurely.

Just then, the person Brayden Leopold had sent out to interrogate Mr. Donkey came in.

“Young Master, this whole situation was instigated by Joel Martin. Because he couldn’t stand Mr. Reed, he called Theon Falls and had Mr. Donkey come over to cause trouble,” said a black-clad bodyguard in a low voice.

“Theon Falls? One of the Seven Guardians who work for Stanislaus Potter?”

Brayden Leopold hesitated a bit at the mention of Theon Falls’s name.

The Seven Guardians were crucial to the Golden Eagle Group. Even within the entire Group, aside from the chairman Stanislaus Potter, these seven people were the most influential.

After Quadir Cook was taken out, only six of the Seven Guardians remained, but this did not diminish their influence in Five-river Province.

“Yes! It’s Theon Falls, Mr. Donkey is his employee. Young Master, what should we do now?”

The man in black asked for instructions again.

They had been a bit too harsh during the earlier interrogation, and Mr. Donkey and his people were tortured almost to death.

Although the Leopold Family and the Potter Family had deep-seated grievances, things hadn’t escalated to the point of outright hostility.

Especially since the patriarch was seriously ill and with the Leopold Family without a clear leader, angering Stanislaus Potter could potentially bring losses to the family.

“What to do? Even if Theon Falls were to show up, I’d still dare to reason with him for daring to touch my Leopold Family’s fiancee!”

Remembering how Julius Reed had put Benson Michael in his place when he tried to intervene, Brayden Leopold suddenly felt emboldened.

Today was supposed to be about him cleaning up for Julius Reed, and now that Julius Reed had shown his capability, what was there left for him to worry about?

“Joel Martin, today I must teach you a lesson!”

Brayden Leopold waved his hand, and his bodyguards didn’t hesitate, quickly gagging Joel Martin’s mouth.

Then, another man took out a towel from his pocket and slowly wound it around his fist.

Whoosh!

“Mmph…”

Joel Martin’s eyes turned bloodshot, and his face turned purple, but he couldn’t make a sound because his mouth was stuffed.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

After two more punches, Joel Martin was in so much pain that his eyes rolled back, and his body began convulsing uncontrollably.

“Enough!”

Anna Harris could no longer bear to watch and turned to look at Brayden Leopold, “Don’t you guys have any respect for the law?”

No matter what, they were friends to some extent. Although she felt a strong sense of disgust towards Joel Martin when she learned he had staged the incident, she couldn’t bear to watch him being beaten like this.

“Mind your own business!”

Brayden Leopold narrowed his eyes and slowly moved beside Anna Harris, “Do you want to get involved in the Leopold Family’s affairs?”

“No! Young Master Leopold, my friend didn’t mean that!”

Heather Gonzalez quickly pulled Anna Harris aside, smiling apologetically as she explained to Brayden Leopold, “Please don’t stoop to our level, girls just don’t understand these things.”

After speaking, she pushed Anna Harris again, “Anna, right?”

Brayden Leopold had given Isandro Jackson a tough time, and who were outsiders to comment on the ways of the Leopold Family?

“He’s been hit enough, hasn’t he?”

But looking at Joel Martin in such agony, Anna Harris still couldn’t bear it.

“His calling people to trouble your Leopold Family was wrong. But now you’re being so harsh, and he has apologized. Even if it’s just for his uncle’s sake, you should let bygones be bygones!”

After saying that, she took a deep breath, “If this goes on, someone could get killed.”

“Little girl, you’ve got spunk. But I never hit women, though today might be an exception!”

Brayden Leopold circled around the chair, slowly unbuttoning his suit’s cufflinks, “Now it’s come to a point where any Tom, Dick, or Harry thinks they can interfere with the Leopold Family’s business!”

Anna Harris’s brows furrowed, but she didn’t know what to do; even her palms were sweating.

“Hey! That Julius Reed, Anna Harris is your wife’s close friend. If she gets beaten today, how are you going to explain it to Quella Radcliffe?”

At the critical moment, Heather Gonzalez slammed the table, looking at Julius Reed, who was busy eating meat.

She wasn’t stupid; seeing how Julius Reed had dared to confront Benson Michael, she knew this man was no simpleton!

He certainly wasn’t the useless man that Anna Harris had described!

“Cough, cough!”

Julius Reed, who was drinking soup, was startled by the shout.

“I say, didn’t you see that I was drinking my soup? With all your shouting, you almost scared me to death!”

He cleared his throat and looked at Anna Harris, “You too, what’s with meddling unnecessarily after having a full stomach? The Leopold Family is the biggest local family; what do you have to go against them? If you want to die, go do it outside, don’t drag me into it!”

“You!”

Anna Harris was so angry she was at a loss for words, and it was quite a while before she could speak, “Even if I die, it’s none of your business! Rest assured, I won’t say a bad word about you to Quella Radcliffe! But don’t blame me if I bring all your indiscretions to light!”
