Chapter 3: Seen the Light
Wen Xian struggled to turn her head to see his face, wanting to engrave the image of the man who harmed her deeply into her mind.
However, as his figure blocked the light, his features hid in the darkness, and Wen Xian had not seen his face clearly by the time she fainted.

Qinghai Kekexili, Uninhabited Area Administration.
…
Something moist and soft was wiping her face, neck.
The buttons on the collar of her shirt were being undone.
In a daze, Wen Xian sensed danger and subconsciously furrowed her brows, reaching out to resist.
“Don’t, don’t touch me…”
Her head ached badly, felt heavy, who was the other party, why were they undressing her…?!
Soon, her reaching hand was restrained, pressed next to her head, as the person continued to unbutton her shirt.
The clouded mind of Wen Xian finally panicked, and she instinctively swung her arm violently—
Accompanied by a muffled grunt from the man, three marks swiftly slashed from the side of his neck to his earlobe.
One second, two seconds later, they turned blood red.
The man made no move, and not knowing how much time had passed while observing her motionless on the bed, he then stared at her with a cold gaze.
Afterward, he bent down to continue what he was doing.
This time, because her previous actions were too vigorous and stimulated something unknown, she again fell into unconsciousness, lying there helplessly, motionless.
At his mercy.
…
…
Wen Xian was awakened by her anger.
She thought she had been having a very infuriating and embarrassing dream, but upon waking up, she realized it was real!
“You’re awake?”
An amiable smile was directed at her from a Tibetan lady wearing traditional attire.
Groggily holding her head and sitting up, the anger accumulated in Wen Xian’s stomach made her pause suddenly when she heard the voice.
She turned her head to look at this amah clad in a left-opening tunic with long sleeves, a hem reaching her feet, and a belt tied around her waist, her brow furrowing even tighter, she asked, “Where is he?!”
The person who caused her to tumble into the ditch!?
And what place was this?!
She surveyed everything in the room.
This was a typical Tibetan house, with rammed-earth walls, wooden floors, and golden tapestries still hanging as decorations on the walls.
The amah, seeing her bad complexion but still minding it not, continued to smile amiably, “Young lady, you are referring to Captain Lu from the administration, right? He has gone out on business; he should be back soon.”
Saying this, she leaned forward to check her head, consoling, “The wound is much better. Captain Lu dressed it for you. He is very skilled; it definitely won’t leave a mark.”
Captain Lu, Captain Lu!
The Captain of the administration! Was it this man who caused her such misery!?
Wen Xian gritted her teeth, suddenly prepared to get up to settle accounts with this so-called Captain Lu but grimaced in pain from a shoulder blade injury when trying to rise, inhaling sharply, “Sss…! It hurts.”
“Oh dear, young lady, please sit down properly; your shoulder is also injured. The amah had just arrived when Captain Lu had already treated your wounds.”
The Tibetan woman said hurriedly, helping her to sit down.
Wen Xian sat down with a somewhat pale face, then it dawned on her. During her unconsciousness, there seemed to be a vague memory of someone undressing her, wiping somewhere.
She had struck back hard, and seemed to have fiercely scratched him too.
Wen Xian’s lips tightened slightly, and when she spoke again by clenching her fists, “Don’t tell me he was the one who took off my clothes too.”
The amah’s expression suddenly became a bit peculiar; she smiled somewhat embarrassedly:
“Young lady, it was a special circumstance this morning. The nearest clinic is forty kilometers away from here, and in this administration area, it’s just a group of young men and that gatekeeper uncle. The amah wasn’t here at the time, so only Captain Lu could help you.”
“And—”
